| Pia Di Stefano | |||
| Pia's paintings are enormous depictions of color, time and enlarged life, focusing on the human body crossed by time and inner awareness. Large hands, fingers and limbs contort like branches, almost hooked, or joined together as if in prayer. Others are spiritually collected in total silence. “Painting hypnotizes me as if I were able to reveal something that could not be expressed through words," Pia points out. “I believe the body is a metaphor for the soul, a vehicle through which the soul experiences feelings and sentiments. The body is a capsule, an instrument used to interact in the world." Hence, come the limbs as ganglions and coiling and intertwining bodies in her paintings. |
