Group Bookings

Open Artspace is situated in the thriving West End of Glasgow (only two minutes walk from Hillhead Subway) so is an ideal location for a work event or private workshop with friends.

What will the day involve?
We can offer workshops lasting from two hours to a full day, in wheel throwing, hand-building, glazing, or any combination. Afterwards we will fire and glaze your pots using food-safe glazes, ready for collection 10 days later.

Interested in corporate team-building?

Our team-building days are lead by Chris, a long-term member of Open Artspace and a keen potter; in his day-job Chris works in business and corporate facilitation and staff training, as such he can support more team-focussed activities as part of your pottery experience. This could be making pots focussed on your business values, or splitting your day between reflective practice exercise and getting a turn on the pottery wheel.

What length are the sessions?
We can offer sessions lasting from two hours to a full day.

How many people can you accommodate?
We can comfortably accommodate up to 24 people, with a maximum of 6 at a time on wheels
Groups of over 18 will need to be spilt between hand-building, wheel-throwing and glazing

Sgraffito

Shown here on a press moulded bowl. Sgraffito decoration can be applied to your hand-build bowls, plates, or mugs. A bowl + sgraffito worskshop would be 2hrs, a mug + sgraffito workshop would be 3.5hrs

Coil Built Pots

Shown here with two of our dipping glazes; you will have a choice of five coloured glazes for us to apply to your pot.

Wheel Pots

Pots from a first wheel workshop, where you should expect to produce trinket or olive-bowl sized pots, which we will then glaze in your choice of colour.

- 6 people, 2hr wheel throwing workshop £350 (£58 per person)

- 6 people, 4hr hand-building & wheel-throwing workshop £580 (£96 per person)

- 12 people, 3hr hand-building workshop £480 (£40 per person)

- 12 people, 4hr hand-building & wheel-throwing workshop £640 (£53 per person)

- 18 people, 5hr hand-building & wheel-throwing £925 (£51 per person)

- 24 people, 6.5hr hand-building, wheel-throwing & glazing £1173 (£49 per person)

For sessions of 4hrs or more we're happy to break for an hour for you to have lunch in one of the many nearby cafes.

How are fees calculated?

We have a minimum booking of two-hours for £320

Materials, firing and glazing are charged at £5 per person per activity

Extra hours are £100Extra tutors are £25 per hour

What days and times are available for booking?

Workshops can take place:

- Monday-Thursday before 5pm

- Fridays after 7pm

- Weekends after 3pm
